Generating a Tailored Resume
Generating a resume in ModuleHire takes about a minute. Here's how to do it and what to expect.
Before you start
Make sure your module library is set up and reviewed. The quality of your generated resume depends on the quality of your modules — if you haven't looked through your library since uploading, it's worth doing that first.
How to generate a resume
- From the dashboard or the Library, click New Resume (or Generate Resume).
- Paste the job description into the text field. Copy the full job posting — the more detail, the better the match. Include the job title, responsibilities, and requirements sections.
- Click Generate.
- ModuleHire will select the most relevant modules from your library and assemble them into a formatted resume. This takes 15–30 seconds.
- Your resume opens with an ATS Estimator score showing how well it's estimated to match the job description's filters.
Reviewing your generated resume
Once generated, review the resume before downloading:
- Check module selection — do the chosen modules represent your strongest, most relevant experience for this role?
- Review the order — modules are ranked by relevance, but you can reorder them if something doesn't feel right
- Check formatting — make sure nothing looks off in the layout
If you want to swap a module out, you can select an alternative from your library and regenerate.
Downloading your resume
When you're happy with it, click Download to save your resume as a PDF. The downloaded file is formatted and ready to submit.
Your resume history
Every resume you generate is saved to your Applications page. You can revisit any previous resume, see the job description it was generated for, and its ATS Estimator score. This is useful for tracking which applications you've sent and which version of your resume you used.
Tips for better results
- Paste the full job description, not just the title. The requirements and responsibilities sections contain the keywords ModuleHire uses to match your modules.
- Generate a new resume for each application. Don't reuse the same generated resume for multiple jobs — even similar roles at different companies often require different emphasis.
- Keep your library updated. If you take on new responsibilities or complete a major project, add it to your library so it's available for future generations.
